"Gaude Mater" Festival Inaugural Concert with Wojciech Kilar's Music2012-04-20

On May 1 the International Sacred Music Festival „Gaude Mater” will be opened in the Jasnogóra Basilica in Częstochowa. At the inaugural concert we will hear compositions by Wojciech Kilar on the occasion of his 80th birthday.

At the concert we will hear „Bogurodzica” (a new vision of an old Marian song), written with the Jasnogóra monastery, „Angelus”, in mind and which refers to the Book of Exodus. The concert starts at 6pm in the Jasnogóra Basilica, ul. Kordeckiego 2. Earlier, at 4.30pm an exhibition of photography by Zdzisław Sowiński called „Wojciech Kilar” will be opened in the Częstochowa Museum (in the Exhibition Pavilion in the park)

Kilar's Piano Concerto No.2 at the International Piano Stars Festival2012-03-13

On Friday, March 16 Polish pianist Beata Bilińska and The Liepaja Symphony Amber Sound Orchestra will perform Piano Concerto No.2 by Wojciech Kilar. 

The International Piano Stars Festival is celebrating its 20th anniversary. The festival has been held since 1993 and has not only become the cultural highlight of the year in Liepaja, but it has also earned the status of one of the best and prestigious music festivals in Latvia in terms of professionalism and artistic value. In terms of content, this festival is one of a kind in the entire Baltic region.
